Regular, on-time attendance at school is an important factor for success. When students are absent or late, they miss learning opportunities. Excessive tardies can be as detrimental as absences. Student success can best be achieved when students, parents, teachers and school administration work together. *Please keep students home if they are ill, as well as in compliance with recent Covid restrictions and guidelines. Teachers will work with students under these circumstances.

We will work closely with parents and guardians to encourage and support punctuality and attendance at school. If excessive unexcused absences occur, we may:
- Notify parents and guardians about the State Law and the Rosamond policy (letter #1 found in the registration materials-Compulsory Education Form.)
- Send a letter after 10 unexcused absences (Letter #2) asking the parent to contact the school and establish communication.
- Send a letter via Certified Mail after 15 unexcused absences (Letter #3), which will require the parent to contact the school and participate in creating a plan for improved attendance.
- Require an in-person meeting with school administration (as per the law) after 20 unexcused absences. A Truancy Referral will be made to Juvenile Court if attendance does not improve.
We are hopeful that this information will help to keep us focused on our common goal--to give children the best possible educational experience.
